Mails received have a "This message comes from an external sender" banner.

In some companies/organizations, incoming e-mails from external domains may contain a standard message:

This message comes from an external sender.

Check its legitimacy before clicking on a link or attachment.

This message does not come from the AppCraft Events platform, and is automatically added by your company's mail server.

To solve this problem, please contact your IT department. You can provide them with the following information:

AppCraft Events is the event management solution chosen for our events. In particular, it manages the event website and registrations. Mails sent can be invitations or transactional mails (confirmation, password reset if necessary, etc.).

Mails are sent using the event's domain, which has been validated by the IT department, with the corresponding DNS configuration, in compliance with best practices for sending mail (DKIM, SPF, and DMARC).

Please take the necessary steps to whitelist the domain and thus remove the warning message that appears at the top of each mail received.

Configuration differs from company to company, but the most common tool is Microsoft Exchange.

If you use Microsoft Exchange Rules

  1. Access the Microsoft Exchange administration center https://admin.exchange.microsoft.com
  2. Go to Mail Flow > Rules
  3. Create a new rule by clicking on + > Create rule
  4. Configure the rule
    • : Rule name: "Whitelist for AppCraft Events
    • Apply this rule if: Select Sender > Domain is and enter the domain to whitelist (e.g. .com)
    • Do the following: Select Apply exceptions or ignore additional rules, which will disable marking as "external sender".
  5. Save the rule

Note

  • Whitelisting can reduce security, especially against phishing. Be sure to add the right domain.
  • Test the changes by sending an e-mail from the whitelisted domain to confirm that the warning is no longer displayed.
